It’s a garden hose. It retracts nicely when water is drained out. I would recommend getting longer than you think you need. It can stretch further than it automatically stretches to when water fills it but you don’t want to be putting that stress on your faucet if you don’t have to. The shutoff valve broke after a few uses so that’s a bummer.I love that it does not smash my flowers, it is easy to pull around the yard because it is so light weight and flexible. My 1st one is four years old. I bought this one as a house warming gift for my daughter.My only dislike is I can't hook up a sprinkler and move it to the location and turn it on. It needs water pressure to stretch it out therefore you get wet setting up. Maybe someone has an idea how to prevent that.I purchased the hose and it’s length for my balcony as I didn’t want a large hose in my small balcony space. Unfortunately this hose does not stretch easily and I feel I have to tug at it to reach my plants. It is of excellent quality material.this has help me get rid of that big hose and have something in the palm of the hand. well worth the money.I love this hose because it is light weight, the sprayer is perfect, and it definitely extends!Used this hose several times a week to water garden areas and it worked pretty well until about a year in it sprung a pretty significant leak. A couple observations:(1) I didn't really think about the fact that this hose really requires pressure to work correctly since that's how it expands and such. It came with an attachment and I used it as such mostly. One time we wanted to hook up to our water barrels and divert excess water out into the yard and it really didn't work well for that. Unpressurized its pretty narrow and floppy and unless the hose was leveled out water just didn't run through it.(2) There's a rubber ring around the threaded ends that frankly never stays in place because as you fill the hose it, kind of obviously, moves around. It got annoying as it moved around quite a lot. I can't figure out whether its important or not so I just kept resetting it back.(3) Yes, it expands and contracts but when you turn the water off you have to empty the hose for it to shrink back down. Not necessarily a big deal but you have to kind of think ahead and potentially waste some water close to where it its installed each time or.... you know just get a normal non-expanding hose and pile it into a container like normal.Was it worth it? Not really. Did it work as a hose? Sure. But for durability's sake, just buy a normal hose. It'll last longer and be a lot cheaper.n/aUnlike the plain green expandable hoses that I've purchased in the past, this one has not burst. It's been sitting in the sun with the water turned on, and it's fine. It's been a couple of weeks now, and still no ruptures.This is brilliant. Easy to use and lightweight.
