The old hose hanger I had, had one pole with 3 spikes on it. I was okay, but I had to keep rocks on the stakes to keep from toppling over. And the pole was not one solid piece. It screwed together. Eventually, the screw rusted and the pole became wobbly. It really could no longer be secured and I needed something new.I like the look of this. I have connected two 50 ft lightweight metal hoses at the outdoor faucet. Since I do not use heavy rubber hoses, I was pretty sure this would do the trick. First, it has 2 poles versus 1. The poles have about 1+ inch of overlap inside to keep them from being wobbly. Then each pole has 2 stakes. It was relatively easy to put together, even for an old lady. I used a rubber mallet to ensure that it was securely in the ground. I still have the rocks I used for the previous holder. I did put them on the back stakes as the ground here slopes downward. But I probably do not need them. The other 2 rocks in the picture are there because I keep forgetting to move them. Plus, I absolutely love the basket. I can store the sprayer in there as well as other items. I have had it up now for about a week and had to use the hose almost every day to water the outside potted plants. I remove the first 50 feet of hose and drag it around the front and sides of my house. The holder has remained firmly planted. Yeah! And this is on the front of my house so the fact that it also looks good was a big factor for me. Definitely a good buy.
